Jefferson County Memorial Park will offer a service commemorating 9-11 and honoring our local police, fire, and service men/women on Saturday, September 11, at 11:30 a.m. The service will be held in front of the park's Veterans' Memorial.
In conjunction, the park will rekindle its famous Pig Roast from the past with beef dinners being served between 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on the park's grounds. Tickets for the Pig Roast include a generous portion of beef, baked beans, cole slaw, bread, dessert, and a drink and cost just $10.00. The park will also serve hot dog meals during the same hours which will include a hot dog, chips, dessert, and a drink for just $3.00. Take-out will be available. Crafters may display their goods and offer them for sale throughout the park's grounds also between 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Businesses may also set up a display. Anyone interested in purchasing space may call Jennifer Kohlhepp at 304-279-1148. Space will be rented for $25.00.
Various children's activities will take place throughout the park as well between 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Anyone who would like to offer an activity may e-mail Amber Perkins at amber_perkins@hotmail.com or call her at 304-725-7798.
The pool will be open for the last time this season on September 11 with many surprises awaiting you! Pool information may be obtained by calling the pool house at 304-725-8313.
A tennis tournament will be taking place from September 10-12. Contact Kent Thomas at 304-582-5368 (KThoma09@Shepherd.edu) if interested in participating. Singles, doubles, and family events will be held.
Come and enjoy some music as well! Musicians will be performing throughout the day.

Welcome
Located just six blocks from the center of town, Jefferson Memorial Park is a great place to have fun or just relax. Come take a leisurely walk on the trail that loops around the park. Take a refreshing dip at the the pool. Bring the kids to the playground. Have a get together with friends and family at one of the rental pavilions. Challenge some friends to a few rounds of tennis. With plenty of open space, you can fly kites, throw frisbees, or even sled in the winter. Or just sit and relax on a park bench. There's always something to do at Jefferson Memorial Park, so come on out and enjoy all the opportunities for fun.
