Park History
The Jefferson County Memorial Park was incorporated in 1949 and was made possible by a land donation from the late Dr. and Mrs. G.P. Morison. The Park's Corporation later purchased two adjoining lots. In its beginning, the Park was a literal wilderness.

Many local organizations have assisted in funding the many facelifts of the park. A board of Directors oversees its operation. One of Dr. Morison's sons continues to be an active member of the Board.
